On September 12th and 13th, The Tennis Alliance of Anne Arundel County hosted a rousing fundraiser as 340 tennis players signed up to take shifts on the Annapolis High School courts from 7pm Friday to 7pm Saturday.  The mission? To promote tennis as a sport for life and to promote the need for an indoor/outdoor Tennis Center for Anne Arundel County. The Naval Academy men’s tennis team kicked of festivities with clinics for 10 & Unders, juniors, and adults. All the playing sessions had themes where players could dress appropriately. Players arrived in all whites for “Breakfast at Wimbledon” while the 1 am session showed up in pajamas for the Pajama Party.  The DJ, live band, and cardio tennis tapes kept players moving to music all 24 hours. The event was a tremendous success raising funds for required planning studies for a facility and supporting the local USTA Community Tennis Associations.
